To Have But Not to Hold

I was watching a chinese movie yesterday named "Itchy Heart". Then, till one point, i saw a cup written with 'To Have But Not to Hold', it's make me feel 'wow, smart advertisement'.

It's like the M&M chocolate advertisement, "melt in your mouth, not on your hand".

"To Have But Not to Hold". Is it apply to love as well ? It's mean we can have the love to someone but don't really mean we have to own them ?

Is it people can really wish the person they loved happiness although they with other people ? Can human really able to let go the person they love?

Can we be that generous ?
